The holiday season was celebrated in style as Liskeard Inclusive Badminton held its 5th annual Christmas Tournament, attracting an impressive 18 pairings for an evening of competitive play and festive fun.

Players competed for the prestigious Alistair McDonald Plate, and after a thrilling final, David and Liam emerged as champions. Duncan and Lucy secured the runners-up position, while Kerensa and John, along with David and Vicki, shared third place honors.

The tournament also featured a Plate Event, which saw Hannah and Sam claim victory, with Roy and Ross finishing as runners-up. Adding to the festive spirit, Debbie won the award for Best Fancy Dress, showcasing creativity and holiday cheer.

The event was graced by Jean and Andrew McDonald, who presented medals and the Alistair McDonald Plate to the winners. Special thanks were extended to Jess Canfield for managing the tournament and running a very efficient tournament table and to Julian Cooper, Chairman of Cornwall County Badminton Association, for his support and raffle hosting.

The club expressed gratitude to its sponsor, The Halfway House Glynn Valley, and wished all members, coaches, and supporters a Very Merry Christmas. Play resumes on Monday, 5 January, promising more exciting badminton action in the new year.
