Over 50 Young Players Take to the Courts
The recent JCB Summer Junior Badminton Tournament which took place on Saturday 5th September was a tremendous success, bringing together more than 50 children from across the region for a day packed with exciting badminton, friendly competition and plenty of fun.
Players competed in both singles and doubles events, with matches taking place across all age groups. Throughout the day, participants demonstrated great sportsmanship, determination and skill, creating a fantastic atmosphere both on and off the courts.
The tournament showcased the growing enthusiasm for junior badminton, with young players enjoying the opportunity to test their abilities, make new friends and gain valuable match experience in a supportive environment.
Community Support Makes a Difference
Alongside the action on court, attendees also supported fundraising activities organised by Liskeard Inclusive Badminton Club. The club's raffle and pre-loved badminton equipment sale proved extremely popular, raising more than £200.
The funds raised will go towards supporting the ongoing activities and development of Liskeard Inclusive Badminton Club, helping to ensure that badminton remains accessible and enjoyable for players of all abilities.
A Big Thank You
Tournament organiser Jess Canfield expressed her gratitude to everyone involved:

The success of the day was made possible by the collective efforts of players, parents, spectators, volunteers and organisers, all of whom contributed to making the tournament such an enjoyable event.
Looking Ahead
With another successful tournament completed, attention now turns to the next event in the calendar.
The next JCB Junior Tournament will take place on Monday 21st December, and organisers are already looking forward to welcoming players back for another exciting day of badminton.
