We are a friendly club based in St. Austell, Cornwall offering both competitive and social badminton.
- New members are always welcome, whether wanting to play competitively or socially.
- Coaching is available for members of all standards.
- Feather shuttles are used both at club night and matches.
- A summer club is also organised for those members who opt to play all year round.
- Club nights are 7pm to 10pm every Tuesday at Polkyth Leisure Centre and 7 pm to 10pm on Thursday at Penrice Community College.
- The Junior Club is on Tuesdays from 6 pm to 7 pm at Polkyth Leisure Centre and is supervised by a qualified coach.
SABBC plays competitively in the Mid Cornwall Badminton League and currently has 5 teams. These include: 2 Men’s Teams, 1 Ladies Team, 2 Combination Teams and a Mixed Team.
The club however remains very much a social club welcoming all level of players, with a popular junior section. We are also affiliated to Badminton England.
The club recently qualified for, and was awarded, Club Mark status. This is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.
