BADMINTON: KATHRYN ANNOUNCED AS THE NEW BADMINTON DEVELOPMENT OFFICER FOR CORNWALL BADMINTON England, from its Milton Keynes Base, recently appointed Kathryn Wotton as the new Development Officer for Cornwall County, writes John Tresidder, with John Edwards. Kathryn, from Leedstown, Near Hayle, who takes up her post, officially, on June 28th is no stranger to the county badminton scene - having played club and county badminton for many years, as well as being a former number one lady in her native Duchy of Cornwall. She is the current Team Manager of the Cornwall Youth Badminton (CYB) Under-15 squad and qualified, just recently, as a Badminton “Level 2” Coach. Working in partnership with the County Badminton Association and The Cornwall Sports Partnership, Kathryn will seek to raise the profile and participation levels of the sport within schools and communities across the county. Married with three children, Kathryn brings 26 years of Cornish badminton experience to the position, which comprises 3-days per week, part time, for one year duration, in the first instance.
