CARLTON CUP FINAL Cornwall County Badminton Association’s Handicapped Carlton Cup Final was played at Polkyth Sports Centre, St. Austell, on Sunday April 9th, writes John Tresidder The Camelford Club, who won the West Briton “Bowl”, the Duchy’s Senior Competition, in February, together with Truro, contested the popular event. Following some entertaining play, the match score was Camelford 162 points and Truro 233 points. However, following the handicap adjustment of Camelford: plus 200 & Truro: plus 120, Camelford won by the narrow margin of 362 points to 353 on the count-back. The trophy was presented at the League and County Dinner/Dance, at Newquay’s Hotel Riviera, on Friday April 28th.
