BOB, THE DUCHY’S VETS INTERNATIONAL RECORDS A BRACE OF TITLES FOR NEW YEAR. The Cornwall Badminton Veterans “Closed” Championships, 2005/2006, were contested at St. Austell’s Polkyth Leisure Centre on Monday, January 2nd writes John Tresidder, with Jenny Marchant. Bob Bell, the Duchy’s England Vets International and a Captain of the Rest of Europe Vets Team against Denmark, secured a brace of titles – the Men’s Doubles, in tandem with Brian Hannibal and the Mixed Doubles, in partnership with Alison Philp. The weekend was organised by Saltash-based Mike Nancekivell, the Cornwall Badminton Vice-Chairman, who was the runner-up in the Mixed Event, with his wife, Vera, who is a former County First Team player. The CCBA will announce the date for the Championships, 2006/2007, soon.
