West Glamorgan v Cornwall 1 - Sunday 13 November 2005 Team: James Whetter, Nick Phelps, Rob Freer, David Harrington Claire Stott, Janet Santillo, Lorna Riggs, Rachel Irish Cornwall's first team, suffering from no less than four missing regulars, lost a tough match to West Glamorgan, 6-9. WG's first mens pair of James Phillips and Joe Morgan, ranked 49 in the WORLD, were the strength behind the team. With James playing at 1, and Joe at 2, they made a clean sweep of the singles, both their doubles and two mixed. The 2nd WG pair were much weaker, resulting in a win for both Cornwall's mens pairings. Cornwall's women played hard to win 3 out of four doubles, narrowly missing out on the fourth with Jan and Rachel losing in 3 sets. Rachel also just missed out on a singles win, losing 13-12 in a third set. David Harrington was last on court for the second match running, paired with Claire this time, and again produced a win to clinch a vital point from the match.
