FORMER TOP INTERNATIONAL STAR COMING TO CORNWALL – TO SEE YOU
Some very exciting news from Cornwall Youth Badminton writes John Tresidder, with Tony Poole. CYB is pleased to announce that Rebecca Pantenay, the former England International player is coming to Cornwall. She will be running our coaching session at Truro School, Trennick Lane, Truro, on February 5th, 2006, so all the age group squads will be able to meet her and learn from her enormous experience of top-flight badminton. Rebecca, or “Bex”, as she likes to be known, had a long career in our sport and played in the England squad as young as at Under- 13 Level. As an England senior player, she competed in the National Team from 1998 to 2003 and has played all over the world against the very best in the world in all the major competitions. Since retiring from this top-level play, she has continued to compete very successfully at county level and was last year’s Mixed Doubles Champion at our very own Duchy of Cornwall “Open”. Tutor: Bex, in addition, is now coaching extensively and is a BADMINTON England tutor, which means she also coaches the coaches! Now, we have the chance to welcome her back to Cornwall and to benefit from her proven coaching methods. Do not miss out on this great opportunity to learn from the very best! Let’s make sure we give Bex a warm Cornish welcome and show our appreciation of her coming here by a full attendance from all the squads.
